Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, is inviting applications for the position of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) for an ICMR-funded project. Job Responsibilities
The Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) will play a critical role in the successful implementation of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (AMSP). The main responsibilities include:
- Supervising and auditing project activities related to antimicrobial stewardship.
- Ensuring compliance with the antibiotic policy and promoting the appropriate use of antibiotics.
- Overseeing de-escalation of antibiotic therapy where necessary.
- Organizing Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities on rational antibiotic use.
- Providing clinical support, similar to a clinical pharmacist’s role, with a focus on promoting antimicrobial stewardship in tertiary care settings.
Qualifications and Experience
To be eligible for this position, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:
Essential Qualifications:
- Pharm D degree.
- Minimum of six months of research experience.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Clinical experience in antimicrobial stewardship practices.
- Publications in Science Citation Indexed Journals.
- Good communication skills, particularly in English.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and analysis.
The maximum age limit is 35 years as of 30th September 2024.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of antibiotic pharmacokinetics and principles of antimicrobial use.
- Knowledge in biostatistics, antibiogram creation, and research methodology.
- Ability to manage data and conduct audits related to antibiotic use.
- Effective communication and leadership skills to coordinate with healthcare professionals.
- Scientific publication experience is a plus.
