Role Summary: Biocon Biologics is seeking skilled professionals to join the Characterization Development Lab team in Bengaluru. This role is focused on mass spectrometry-based characterization of biopharmaceutical products like monoclonal antibodies, insulin analogues, and therapeutic peptides. If you have a strong background in analytical chemistry, chromatography, and mass spectrometry, this position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in biopharma R&D.
Key Responsibilities:
- Characterization of biopharma products including monoclonal antibodies, insulin analogues, pegylated proteins, antibody-drug conjugates, and therapeutic peptides.
- Operation and maintenance of high-resolution mass spectrometers (Q-TOF, Orbitrap) for applications like intact/subunit mass deconvolution, peptide mapping, and glycan analysis.
- Developing and optimizing multi-attribute methods for new peak detection, report generation, and data analysis using advanced MS instruments.
- Expertise in host-cell protein identification, quantitation, and higher-order structure determination using HDX-MS technology and other mass spectrometry techniques.
- Experience with biopharmaceutical software tools such as Proteome Discoverer, Byonic, Biopharma Finder, and eLN, along with LIMS and QMS software like Trackwise.
Education & Experience:
- Post-graduate with 6-8 years of research experience or PhD with 3-5 years of experience.
- Strong educational background in biochemistry, biotechnology, protein chemistry, or related life sciences fields.
Skills Required:
- Proficiency in mass spectrometry and analytical separations.
- Hands-on experience with biopharma-specific MS software.
- Strong background in chromatography and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Familiarity with lab documentation tools like eLN and LIMS.
