Responsibilities in the Role
As a Research Scientist in the Stability Lab at Apotex, you will contribute significantly to the company’s R&D efforts. Key responsibilities include:
- Method Validation: Performing validation of analytical testing procedures for drug substances and drug products.
- Sample Testing: Conducting initial and stability sample testing for APIs, in-process materials, raw materials, and finished dosages.
- Documentation: Preparing detailed and accurate documentation of test results in compliance with established SOPs.
- Regulatory Support: Providing technical support to address regulatory inquiries and deficiency letters.
- Collaboration: Working with cross-functional teams to enhance project outcomes.
- Safety Compliance: Ensuring adherence to safety, health, and environment policies while maintaining quality standards.
- Continuous Learning: Enhancing knowledge by liaising with R&D teams and staying updated on advancements in analytical techniques.
Qualifications
Candidates should meet the following educational criteria:
- Education: A graduate or postgraduate degree in Chemistry or Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
- Experience:
- BSc: Minimum of 5 years in a pharmaceutical R&D lab.
- MSc: 3–4 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical research.
Skills Required
- Proficiency in wet chemistry and analytical bench techniques.
- Familiarity with Windows-based software and automated data acquisition systems.
- Knowledge of manual/automated dissolution testing and Gas Chromatography (GC) is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
