About the Role:

As an Oncology Data Specialist at Omega Healthcare, you will play a critical role in managing and analyzing complex oncology data. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Data Collection and Management: Gathering, cleaning, and organizing large datasets from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. This will involve working with electronic health records (EHRs), clinical trial data, and other relevant sources.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Performing statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights within the oncology data. This will involve utilizing advanced analytical techniques and tools to support clinical research and operational decision-making.
  • Data Reporting and Visualization: Creating clear and concise reports and visualizations to communicate findings to both clinical and non-clinical audiences. This requires strong data storytelling capabilities and the ability to tailor reports to different stakeholders.
  • Database Maintenance: Maintaining the integrity and accuracy of oncology databases, ensuring data security and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., HIPAA). This includes regular data audits and the implementation of best practices for data management.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Working closely with a multidisciplinary team of oncologists, researchers, and other healthcare professionals to support clinical trials, research initiatives, and operational improvements. Effective communication and collaboration skills are essential.
  • Project Support: Contributing to various oncology-related projects, offering support and expertise in data management and analysis. This may involve assisting with the design and implementation of new data collection systems or processes.

Qualifications and Skills:

We are looking for candidates who possess a strong combination of academic background and professional experience. Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience: 0-5 years of experience in a clinical or non-clinical setting. Experience working with oncology data is a plus, but not mandatory. We are open to training highly motivated individuals with relevant skills.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following fields:
    • Medicos: BDS, MDS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, BPT, MD
    • Non-Medicos: Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Nursing, Pharm-D, Paramedics
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, Python) is highly desirable. Experience with database management systems (e.g., SQL) is a significant advantage. Familiarity with EHR systems is also beneficial.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills are essential. The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities is crucial. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail are also vital.
