Clarivate is hiring for the position of Associate STEM Content Analyst – Polymer in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This opportunity is open to freshers and candidates with 1–2 years of content experience who hold a relevant postgraduate degree in Chemistry or a technical qualification in Polymer Technology.
The selected candidate will join Clarivate’s Polymer team within IP Indexing and work on the Derwent World Patent Index (DWPI™), analysing patents and extracting scientific information related to polymer compounds, compositions, structures, and applications.

Position
Associate STEM Content Analyst – Polymer
The role involves analysing polymer-related patents, identifying novel scientific information, and indexing and coding technical information in accordance with editorial policies for Clarivate’s Derwent Innovation product.
Key Responsibilities
Selected candidates will be responsible for:
- Extracting novel scientific information from polymer patents.
- Indexing and coding polymer-related information in patents.
- Curating information related to monomers, catalysts, additives, and chemical processes.
- Analysing physical operations and applications of polymers.
- Applying DWPI codes in accordance with established editorial policies.
- Analysing and interpreting complex scientific information.
- Maintaining awareness of current trends and developments in Polymer Science and Chemistry.
- Meeting individual and team production targets and defined quality standards.
Eligibility Criteria / Educational Qualifications
Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications:
- M.Sc. in Chemistry
- M.Sc. in Polymer Science
- M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry
- M.Sc. in Physical Chemistry
- M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry
- M.Sc. in Inorganic Chemistry
- M.Tech in Polymer Technology
- B.Tech in Polymer Technology
Experience Required:
- Freshers can apply.
- Candidates with 1–2 years of content experience are also eligible.
Required Skills
- Strong English communication skills.
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex datasets.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of Polymer Science and Chemistry concepts.
Additional Advantage:
Experience with chemical drawing packages such as ISIS Draw will be beneficial.
