The Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) is a prestigious institution dedicated to veterinary and animal sciences research and education. The university’s Madras Veterinary College is currently offering a unique opportunity to work on a CSIR-ASPIRE-funded project focusing on an advanced freeze-dried platelet-rich plasma therapy for treating subclinical endometritis in crossbred cows.

Responsibilities in Job

The selected Junior Research Fellow (JRF) will be responsible for:

  • Conducting platelet-rich plasma preparation and molecular research as per project guidelines.
  • Maintaining records of experimental results in both soft and hard copies.
  • Tracking necessary contingencies and consumables, assisting in their procurement.
  • Assisting the Principal Investigator (PI) in preparing research reports and documentation.
  • Performing additional project-related tasks as assigned by the PI and Co-PIs.

Qualification Requirements

To be eligible for the JRF position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Essential Qualification:
    • A BS (4-year program) / BPharm / MBBS / BVSc / Integrated BS-MS / MSc / BE / BTech or an equivalent degree with 55% marks.
    • NET/GATE qualification is mandatory.
  • Desirable Qualification:
    • Experience in basic molecular techniques.
    • Prior experience in animal experimentation is advantageous.

Required Skills

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Strong knowledge of molecular biology and biomedical research techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with animal handling and experimental procedures.
  • Ability to maintain accurate scientific records.
  • Proficiency in research documentation and report writing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
