Job Description: Quality Control Officer

The Quality Control Officer will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our pharmaceutical products. This involves a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Analytical Testing and Reporting: Performing routine and non-routine analytical testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products using sophisticated analytical techniques. This will involve meticulous data recording, analysis, and reporting.
  • Method Validation and Development: Participating in the validation and development of analytical methods to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Ensuring adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards. This includes participation in internal and external audits.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Calibration: Maintaining and calibrating analytical equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and complete records of all testing activities, following strict documentation procedures.
  • Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving quality control issues, escalating concerns as necessary, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Collaborating effectively with other members of the Quality Control team, as well as other departments, to ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities and Skills:

This role requires a highly motivated individual with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality. Specific responsibilities and skills include:

  • Performing analytical testing using advanced techniques: Proficiency in HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography), GC (Gas Chromatography), and other chromatographic techniques is essential. Experience with microbiological testing is also crucial.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory compliance: Comprehensive knowledge of cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) and other relevant regulatory requirements is required. Experience with audit activities is a significant advantage.
  • Data analysis and interpretation: The ability to analyze complex data, interpret results accurately, and draw meaningful conclusions is essential.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills: The candidate must be able to identify and solve problems effectively, propose solutions, and implement corrective actions.
  • Effective communication and teamwork: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as is the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Microbiology.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in a pharmaceutical quality control environment.
  • Analytical Techniques: Proven proficiency in HPLC, GC, and other relevant chromatographic techniques, along with microbiological testing methods.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of cGMP, regulatory requirements, and audit procedures.
