Role Overview
As a QC Microbiologist at ADCAN Pharma, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest quality standards in our microbiology department. Your expertise will support the continuous improvement of our Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure that our manufacturing processes align with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are pivotal to our operations. Below is a summary of the primary duties you will undertake:
- Development of SOPs: You will prepare and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the microbiology department. This includes documentation related to our Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
- Laboratory Analysis: Conduct microbiology laboratory analyses and manage all QMS action items. This will require coordinating investigations related to change controls, deviations, Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), Out Of Specification (OOS) results, and Out Of Trend (OOT) data, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Documentation Control: Execute document control activities crucial for implementing the QMS in adherence to cGMP guidelines. This aspect of the role is key to maintaining both compliance and efficiency within the laboratory environment.
- Regulatory Compliance: Actively support the microbiology lab in complying with cGMP requirements and help prepare for regulatory inspections. Ensuring our processes meet federal regulations is critical to our success.
- Sample Preparation: Assist in preparing test and standard solutions, as well as microbial cultures and growth media. Your role will also involve the isolation of microorganisms, essential for our analytical processes.
- Sampling and Validation: Perform sampling for critical variables, including water, equipment hold times, and cleaning validations. You will also assist in various analytical activities, such as preparing petri plates, autoclaving, and documentation gathering from the Quality Assurance (QA) team.
- Data Analysis: Prepare trend analyses based on water samples and environmental monitoring within the lab. Data-driven insights are vital for continuous improvement.
- Additional Responsibilities: You may also be assigned other tasks relating to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) by management, contributing to the overall success of the team.
Qualifications and Skills
To thrive in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, Pharmacy, or Chemistry.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a microbiology department within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong knowledge of industry regulations and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Familiarity with SAP software is an advantage.
