Department: Research Assistant
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct assigned technical jobs including experiments, and maintain equipment/units in the laboratory or pilot plant.
- Set up reactor assemblies/experimental setups for tests and experiments.
- Prepare and synthesize samples on a lab scale.
- Perform structural, textural, and mechanical testing/characterization using equipment such as XRD, Physisorption/Chemisorption units, TPD, microscopy, Thermal analyzer, IR/UV-Visible spectrometer, GC, HPLC, etc.
- Maintain and use reactors and analytical instruments, logging usage in the laboratory/pilot plant.
- Keep records of spares and consumables in the lab and initiate procedures for replenishment.
Skills & Competencies:
- Follow applicable HSE procedures and practices during experiments and ensure compliance by team members.
- Maintain high awareness of environmental, site, statutory, and IP regulations and adhere to them.
- Handle chemicals and tools safely while conducting experiments.
- Understand and mitigate hazards as described in the MSDS of chemicals being handled.
- Ensure safe working conditions in the laboratory and pilot plant.
- Maintain good housekeeping at the workplace.
