The Parexel Health Economics Associate role combines statistical methodology, programming and healthcare research. Selected candidates will support study teams with statistical analysis plans, sample-size calculations, analysis datasets, tables, listings and figures, quality control and statistical contributions to clinical study reports.
Key Responsibilities
As a Health Economics Associate – Advanced Analytics at Parexel, responsibilities include:
- Work as a support biostatistician or statistical programmer and collaborate with study teams and sponsors.
- Support preparation of statistical sections of study protocols.
- Perform sample-size and statistical power calculations.
- Review data management plans, data specifications and related study documentation.
- Assist with development of Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs).
- Contribute to specifications for analysis datasets.
- Develop statistical programs for Tables, Listings and Figures (TLFs) according to the statistical analysis plan.
- Conduct quality control of TLFs and analysis datasets.
- Provide statistical input for Clinical Study Reports (CSRs).
- Help maintain quality standards across assigned projects.
- Evaluate and support implementation of appropriate statistical methodologies and techniques.
- Contribute to methodological and thought-leadership initiatives.
Qualification & Eligibility
Candidates should have a Master’s degree or higher in Public Health, Health Economics, Health Policy, Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or another relevant quantitative field.
The position requires approximately 2–4 years of experience, with familiarity in healthcare consulting or pharmaceutical organizations.
Applicants should have a strong foundation in statistical concepts and methodologies, including exposure to areas such as:
- Survival analysis, including parametric methods
- Longitudinal data analysis
- Meta-analysis
- Mixed treatment comparison
- Hierarchical analysis techniques
- Development of predictive equations
Knowledge of machine learning techniques and Bayesian statistics is considered an additional advantage.
Technical Skills Required
Parexel is looking for candidates with statistical programming capabilities using one or more of the following:
SAS | R | SQL | Python
Candidates should also possess strong scientific and business writing abilities, presentation skills, attention to detail, problem-solving capabilities and excellent written and spoken English.
The ability to explain technical statistical concepts to non-technical project stakeholders is particularly important for this position.
