I KNOW YOU HAVE QUESTIONS:
Can candidates from outside Jharkhand apply?
Yes โ candidates from any state in India can apply.
However:
- Reservation benefits (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) are only for Jharkhand domicile candidates.
- Candidates from other states will be treated under the Unreserved (UR) category.
So: Eligible to apply = Yes
Reservation benefit = No (unless Jharkhand resident)
Can freshers apply?
Technically: Yes (for application stage)
Practically: Mostly No (for final eligibility/appointment)
Hereโs why:
- The notification includes mandatory experience criteria (Schedule C drugs).
- Without:
- 18 months manufacturing OR
- 18 months testing OR
- 3 years inspection
You wonโt qualify for full Drug Inspector authorization, especially for Schedule C substances (biologicals, vaccines, etc.).
So freshers can fill the form,
But selection/appointment chances are very low without experience.
Pharm.D candidates cannot work in manufacturing/labsโthen how will they get experience?
This is the core confusion, and you should address it directly:
1. The rule is NOT โPharm.D cannot workโ
There is no legal prohibition saying Pharm.D graduates cannot work in:
- Manufacturing
- Quality Control labs
The issue is industry hiring preference, not law.
2. Where Pharm.D candidates can realistically gain eligible experience
Pharm.D graduates can still build relevant experience indirectly or strategically:
Option A: Work in Pharma Industry (QA/QC/Production)
- Some companies do hire Pharm.D in QA, documentation, or QC support roles
- Even analytical or documentation roles in labs may count toward โtesting experienceโ
Option B: CROs / Clinical Research / BA-BE Units
- Work in:
- Bioanalytical labs
- Clinical research units
- If involved in drug testing/analysis, it may be considered relevant
Option C: Regulatory Affairs / Pharmacovigilance
- Not directly โSchedule C experienceโ
- But useful for:
- Building profile
- Transitioning later into regulatory inspection roles
Option D: State Drug Control / Contract Roles
- Some states hire:
- Drug Inspectors (contract/ad-hoc)
- Technical assistants
This is the best pathway, but limited opportunities.
Ground Reality (Important to tell)
- This recruitment is more aligned with B.Pharm / M.Pharm (industrial exposure)
- Pharm.D inclusion is recent, but:
- Experience requirement remains unchanged
- So thereโs a practical mismatch
