Job Description:
Position Title: Research Associate
Location: Hyderabad, India
The Research Associate will be responsible for conducting synthetic chemistry reactions and delivering final compounds in a timely manner. The role involves problem-solving in chemistry independently and ensuring that all experimental observations and results are documented as per Syngene’s standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Synthesis & Purification: Conduct synthetic chemistry reactions, perform reaction workups, and purify compounds using techniques such as column chromatography, crystallization, and preparative TLC.
- Documentation & Reporting: Record experimental observations, results, and usage of resources in the electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) and ensure confidentiality and timely updates to the supervisor or group leader.
- Safety Compliance: Handle chemicals following safety protocols, adhere to EHS guidelines, and be aware of emergency response procedures for spillage, leakage, or fire. Ensure proper waste segregation according to EHS norms.
- Productivity & Quality: Meet Syngene’s productivity expectations in terms of compound synthesis without compromising safety or quality standards. Ensure the final compounds are synthesized and delivered within fast turnaround times.
- Training & Development: Attend mandatory training sessions related to data integrity, health, safety, and quality standards, and ensure training records are updated.

Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: 2-4 years in organic synthesis, particularly in synthetic chemistry and reaction mechanisms.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of organic synthesis concepts and reaction mechanisms.
- Proficient in purification techniques and analytical interpretation of results.
- Familiarity with the operation of relevant laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Education: M.Sc. in General or Organic Chemistry.
