Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for performing routine microbiological quality control activities including:
- Perform Total Viable Count (TVC) analysis.
- Conduct Microbial Limit Testing (MLT).
- Perform Sterility Testing.
- Carry out Bacterial Endotoxin Testing (BET/LAL).
- Perform pathogen testing including E. coli, Salmonella, and other specified microorganisms.
- Prepare microbiological media and perform Growth Promotion Testing (GPT).
- Execute sterilization activities following SOPs.
- Perform environmental monitoring of cleanroom and classified manufacturing areas.
- Conduct active and passive air sampling.
- Perform surface monitoring using swabs and contact plates.
- Carry out personnel monitoring activities.
- Record, review, and evaluate microbiological results against alert and action limits.
Laboratory Instruments You’ll Handle
Candidates will gain experience operating pharmaceutical microbiology laboratory equipment including:
- Autoclave
- Incubators
- Laminar Air Flow (LAF)
- Colony Counter
- Particle Counter (where applicable)
The role also includes ensuring calibration, preventive maintenance, and proper instrument documentation.
Documentation & Regulatory Compliance
As a QC Microbiology professional, you will:
- Maintain documentation according to Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Record laboratory data in logbooks, worksheets, and LIMS.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Test Procedures (STPs).
- Ensure compliance with GLP, USFDA, EU GMP, and WHO regulatory requirements.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess:
- B.Sc in Microbiology, or
- M.Sc in Microbiology
