Key Responsibilities
- Synthesis and Characterization:
- Perform synthesis, purification, and characterization of chemical intermediates.
- Deliver small to large quantities of lead novel chemical entities for drug discovery projects.
- Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead a team of 3-8 chemists, guiding them in project execution and troubleshooting.
- Work collaboratively in a team to drive chemistry projects forward, ensuring safe laboratory practices.
- Technical Expertise:
- Apply advanced knowledge in organic chemistry, including functional group conversion, multi-step synthesis, and retrosynthetic analysis.
- Expertise in handling pyrophoric reactions, chiral chemistry, and diastereomer separation.
- Proficient in using (Prep)-HPLC and analyzing NMR, IR, and Mass Spectrometry data.
- Documentation and Communication:
- Maintain accurate electronic lab notebooks, and contribute to writing reports, patents, and manuscripts.
- Perform literature searches using tools like Reaxys/Scifinder and effectively communicate findings.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safe laboratory practices at all times, ensuring a secure working environment for the team.
Person Profile
- Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or a related field, or Post-Doctorate in a relevant discipline.
- Experience:
- 1-5 years of industry experience or post-doctoral experience in organic chemistry or related areas.
