Job Overview
IQVIA is seeking a dedicated Safety Associate to join our team in Kolkata. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing, assessing, and processing safety data and information across various service lines. You will distribute reports and data to internal and external third parties, adhering to applicable regulations, SOPs, and internal guidelines under the guidance of senior operation team members.
Essential Functions
- Training and Compliance: Prioritize and complete assigned trainings on time. Ensure 100% compliance with all people practices and processes.
- Data Processing: Process safety data according to applicable regulations, guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and project requirements.
- Pharmacovigilance Activities: Perform pharmacovigilance activities including collecting and tracking incoming Adverse Events (AE)/endpoint information, determining initial/update status of incoming events, database entry, coding AE and products, writing narratives, and literature-related activities.
- Quality and Productivity: Ensure to meet quality, productivity, and delivery standards per project requirements. Identify quality problems and bring them to the attention of senior team members.
- Case Management: Create, maintain, and track cases as applicable to the project plan.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrate problem-solving capabilities and mentor new team members if assigned by the manager.
- Communication: Attend project team meetings and provide feedback to the operations manager on any challenges, issues, or successes. Ensure effective communication with coworkers, managers, and clients.
- Team Collaboration: Work as a team player, contributing to and achieving team goals.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent in a scientific or healthcare discipline. A Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific or healthcare discipline with 1-1.5 years of relevant experience is required.
- Medical Terminology: Good knowledge of medical terminology.
- Technical Skills: Working knowledge of applicable safety databases and global, regional, and local clinical research regulatory requirements.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Software Proficiency: Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and time management skills.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-Motivation: Self-motivated and flexible, with the ability to follow instructions, utilize initiative, and work independently.
- Multitasking: Ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Delegation: Ability to delegate to less experienced team members.
- Learning Aptitude: Willingness and aptitude to learn new skills across safety service lines.
- Work Environment: Extensive use of telephone and face-to-face communication. Regular sitting for extended periods. May require occasional travel and flexibility to operate in shifts.
