Role and Responsibilities

The Scientist I, Protein Biology will be a vital member of the Antibody Team, contributing to the engineering and development of antibodies with a strong emphasis on quality and specificity. Key responsibilities include:

  • Meticulous Experimental Planning: Conduct and execute experiments efficiently to meet project deadlines.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate and thorough records of experimental results in data sheets and lab notebooks.
  • Research and Development: Stay informed on the latest advancements in antibody development, protein engineering, and molecular biology through literature reviews.
  • Reporting: Compile and present findings through oral and written reports, actively participating in team meetings.
  • Workspace Management: Organize shared workspaces and monitor the usage of common reagents.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain a strong commitment to schedules and precise experimental execution.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A Master’s degree with 0-4 years of relevant experience or a PhD (recently submitted within the last year) in life sciences, biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or immunology.
  • Technical Experience:
    • Proficiency in biochemical and immunoassay workflows, including recombinant protein expression, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry (IHC).
    • Strong skills in molecular biology, including high-throughput cloning, PCR, plasmid construction, and DNA sequencing.
    • Familiarity with troubleshooting scientific problems and applying solutions effectively.
  • Software Skills: Expertise in molecular biology software, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and statistical tools like GraphPad Prism.
  • Additional Knowledge: Theoretical or practical experience in antibody development and basic microscopy knowledge are desirable.
