As a Junior Lab Data Specialist, you will be responsible for assuring the accuracy and integrity of laboratory data for Pfizer’s innovative investigations.
Responsibilities of a Junior Lab Data Specialist at Pfizer
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Examine lab slips and papers to ensure that they satisfy the standard reference ranges for all protocol-specific lab tests. This is required to create new Lab Identifiers (IDs) in Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems.
- Lab ID Maintenance: Maintain and update the database’s lab IDs and normal reference ranges, which support both local and central lab IDs for all Pfizer research.
- Textbook Reference Ranges: Handle requests and modifications for textbook reference ranges.
- Lab Data Management: Assist in allocating lab codes to tests based on data obtained via CRF or electronic transfer, while adhering to all lab-specific SOPs and guidelines.
- Guidance and Support: Provide guidance to study management teams for accurate collection of reference range documents from Investigator sites and aid in the assignment of Lab IDs for all study lab data.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Support data managers in reviewing and resolving lab data discrepancies during study conduct and reporting.
- Reporting: Run lab data listings and reports using Pfizer’s browser tools and applications.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with team members on process improvement and automation initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a life science discipline.
- 0-1 year of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, CRO, or regulatory agency, with a focus on safety lab data solutions.
- Understanding of the drug development process and data operations required for clinical trial data reporting.
- Preferable knowledge of CDISC standards.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with clinical data management and EDC systems like Oracle Clinical, Data Labs, Rave, and InForm.
- Understanding of laboratory data collection, including lab tests and units.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., Oracle) and data visualization tools (e.g., Spotfire, J Review).
- Experience working in hospital or clinical diagnostic laboratories.
