Corporate salary accounts can include useful benefits, but the meaningful comparison is what your assigned variant provides and what you can actually claim. A large advertised total may combine conditional insurance, discounts and services that have little value for your needs.
Salary-account annual-cost comparison
Compare two written fee quotations. Include applicable taxes in the amounts you enter; benefits and interest are not valued by this tool.
Annual cost = annual fees entered + monthly charge × charged months. Charges may use daily or average-balance rules; enter the bank-confirmed applicable charge. Zero defaults are examples and do not mean that either bank is universally free. Insurance payouts and promotional headline benefits are not cash savings.

Separate everyday banking from conditional extras
Everyday features include payments, account access, statements and the charges for transactions you regularly make. Conditional extras can include accident cover, selected debit-card privileges, family banking, offers or preferential lending terms. Eligibility, exclusions, qualifying transactions and renewal conditions can differ for each benefit.
Start with the official programmes from SBI, HDFC, ICICI and Axis. Their programme pages describe options; your employer's specific arrangement and the issued variant establish what is available to you.
Run a ten-minute benefits audit
Write the exact account variant beside each feature. Add the condition required, any charge, the document proving entitlement and a realistic annual value to you. A discount is worth zero if you would not otherwise buy the service. Insurance should be recorded as conditional protection rather than money saved or a cash reward.
For example, a quality-control employee rarely travels but regularly withdraws cash near a remote plant. Convenient ATM access could be more useful than airport perks. A field employee may reach a different conclusion. Neither needs to choose a more expensive account simply because it is described as premium.
Ask about optional products
Check whether a demat account, paid debit card, insurance policy or credit card is optional. Confirm charges independently and read each product's terms. A salary programme does not make every bundled service necessary for receiving salary. Do not confuse a bank's offer with a benefit promised in your employment contract.
Keep a record for later
Save the current schedule and the employer offer when the account opens. Recheck benefits after a salary-band change, account upgrade or job switch. Ask whether a qualifying salary credit or card transaction must occur within a defined period, particularly for insurance or lounge privileges.
Use the official bank links to confirm benefits and contact the bank's salary-account team. A clear written answer is more useful than a brochure total that combines several maximum possible benefits.
