Role Overview

The Senior Operator Production will execute production operations during shifts as per SOP, batch manufacturing records and applicable cGMP requirements. The role focuses on safe and efficient equipment operation, documentation accuracy, resource optimization and maintaining production areas in an audit-ready condition.

The position also involves identifying deficiencies in the production area and documentation, supporting process optimization ideas and ensuring that workmen follow safety, housekeeping and PPE guidelines during manufacturing activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment efficiently and without error or deviation as per SOP to meet shift targets.
• Perform unit operations as per SOP and unit processes as per batch manufacturing record.
• Optimize the utilization of available resources for achieving production targets in the shift.
• Maintain equipment, facility and block premises as per SOP for audit readiness.
• Provide suggestions for optimization of processes to manufacture quality products.
• Identify deficiencies in the area and errors in documents, and rectify them as per requirement.
• Propose and implement new ideas to enhance production, optimize consumable goods and maximize resource utilization.
• Execute and update online documentation to meet cGMP requirements.
• Maintain online documentation and timely entries in BMR and supporting documents.
• Check documentation before submission to ensure data integrity.
• Conduct training related to cGMP, equipment operation, safety and housekeeping for workmen.
• Optimize the use of resources in housekeeping activities.
• Ensure good housekeeping and sanitisation as per guidelines.
• Ensure usage and maintenance of PPEs by workmen during shifts.
• Report any near-miss to the officer in-charge in time.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma in Pharmacy / Mechanical.

Experience Required

• 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing organisation, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Understanding of SOP-based production operations and batch manufacturing records.
• Knowledge of cGMP requirements and production documentation practices.
• Ability to maintain data integrity in BMR and supporting documents.
• Awareness of safety, PPE, housekeeping and sanitisation requirements in production areas.
• Ability to support efficient resource utilization and shift target achievement.
• Ability to coordinate with Engineering & Utility, Safety, Formulation Technical Support, Formulation Tech Transfer and equipment manufacturers when required.

Key Work Expectations

• Support execution of 35-40 batches per month.
• Help achieve internal OTIF of more than 90%.
• Meet plant utilization targets as per plan.
• Maintain 0% errors in documentation.
• Support zero reportable accidents or incidences during manufacturing.
• Work towards 0% failures or deviations target.
• Maintain 100% compliance to SOP.
