Job Description:
NIA’s Division of Aging Biology (DAB) is seeking three dynamic individuals to join as Health Program Specialists. In this role, you will provide vital scientific and administrative support to advance DAB’s program goals across various research areas. From assisting in program development to managing research grants and contracts, you will play a crucial role in driving forward our mission to unravel the mysteries of aging and promote healthy aging worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with program directors to develop new research initiatives and initiatives.
  • Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders to stay abreast of scientific advancements relevant to NIA’s mission.
  • Aid in the preparation of scientific program materials, including RFAs, RFIs, and PAs.
  • Review grant applications and ensure compliance with NIH and NIA policies.
  • Assist in the organization and execution of scientific conferences and meetings.
  • Conduct independent analyses of grant portfolios and identify areas for promotion.
  • Develop presentation materials for program directors and the DAB Director.
  • Support scientific management, technical administration, and programmatic evaluation of research projects.

Requirements:

  • A relevant health-related degree (e.g., M.S., Ph.D.).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with proficiency in developing presentations and briefing materials.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
