Responsibilities in the Role
As a Scientific Writing Lead, you will play a pivotal role in creating high-quality medical content aligned with brand strategies and medical communication plans. Key responsibilities include:
- Expertise Development:
- Collaborate with Clinical Research Physicians, Scientists, and Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) to develop content across various therapeutic areas.
- Create deliverables like manuscripts, disease-state education decks, MSL slide decks, standard response documents, infographics, videos, and eModules.
- Content Creation & Analysis:
- Interpret complex data, research findings, and scientific information to produce concise, accurate materials tailored to different audiences.
- Ensure content is well-referenced and adheres to relevant style guides.
- Project Management:
- Lead kick-off meetings to define project scopes, timelines, and deliverables.
- Collaborate with editors, graphic designers, and other teams to address feedback and maintain project quality.
- Prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects efficiently while communicating changes proactively.
- Adaptability & Growth:
- Stay updated on scientific developments and integrate new insights into writing practices.
- Embrace changes in tools, software, and processes, adapting strategies to meet evolving project needs.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- Education:
- M.Pharm, Pharm.D, BDS, MDS, Ph.D., or a life science graduate with relevant medical writing experience.
- Experience:
- 4–5 years of experience in medical or scientific writing in pharmaceutical companies or medical communications agencies.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Familiarity with statistical analysis, MS Office Suite, GraphPad Prism, VeevaVault MedComms, and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
