Role Overview

As a Scientific Communications Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Global Scientific Communications team. Your main responsibility will involve producing high-quality documents that comply with international standards in both regulatory and publication contexts. In this capacity, attention to detail and a commitment to excellence are vital.

Key Responsibilities

1. Document Support

In this role, you will perform a variety of tasks related to document delivery and support, including:

  • Editing and Quality Review: You will ensure that all documents are error-free, well-structured, and timely delivered. Utilizing your keen eye for detail, you will identify grammar, style, formatting, and content inaccuracies, ensuring that all materials adhere to style guides and Lilly’s internal standards.
  • Document Finalization: A key responsibility will involve the production of final eCTD-compliant PDFs of regulatory documents using specialized publishing software. This process includes reviewing and formatting Word files to ensure compliance, rendering these files into PDFs, and making necessary edits to meet all regulatory requirements.

2. Process Efficiency and Technology

The ideal candidate will also enhance team efficiency by:

  • Maintaining proficiency in applicable software and tools.
  • Utilizing creativity to introduce new procedures and technologies that streamline workflows.
  • Establishing uniform practices across the organization, and suggesting enhancements to improve operational effectiveness.

3. Therapeutic & Disease State Management

You will work closely with various therapeutic areas, ensuring you remain versed in key communication strategies and product knowledge, as well as being familiar with clinical trial designs.

Qualification Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex technical challenges.
  • Proven project management capabilities.
  • Attention to detail with critical thinking and analytical ability.
  • High-level proficiency in end-user computer tools such as word processing and spreadsheets.

Having specialized knowledge of editing and proofreading tools, as well as BELS certification, is highly preferred. Familiarity with medical and statistical terminology is also advantageous.
