AstraZeneca is hiring for the position of Clinical Programmer I / II at Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore. The role involves clinical data programming, dashboard development, automation, data quality, operational reporting, discrepancy detection, visualization, validation, and collaboration with clinical, data management, biometrics, and operations teams.

The position is offered as a full-time, hybrid role and requires programming experience across SAS, Python, R, SQL, Power BI, and Spotfire.

Responsibilities

Selected candidates will be responsible for:

• Designing, developing, implementing, and validating clinical data programs using SAS, Python, R, and SQL.
• Processing, analyzing, and reporting clinical trial data for clinical study teams.
• Developing, validating, and maintaining dashboards using Power BI, Spotfire, and MicroStrategy.
• Gathering requirements, provisioning data, testing dashboards, providing training, and supporting internal and external users.
• Creating and maintaining reports to support data cleaning.
• Automating manual checks and programming reconciliation and edit checks for TPV data.
• Developing tools and repositories to reduce data errors at source, including lab reference ranges.
• Programming operational reports covering missing pages, open and closed queries, PI signatures, and audit trail outputs.
• Detecting subject-level errors and delivering metrics related to data cleaning status and study readiness.
• Developing visualizations and dashboards to identify discrepancies between EDC and TPV data.
• Working within established frameworks and SOPs while maintaining quality and documentation.
• Completing peer reviews and report specifications and maintaining assets as requirements change.
• Completing assigned tasks independently within a defined scope and communicating progress and risks to lead programmers.
• Contributing to medium- to high-complexity initiatives on the clinical programming roadmap.
• Collaborating with data management, development operations, clinical, biometrics, and other teams.

Eligibility / Qualifications

Candidates should have:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent qualification, in:
  • Computer Science
  • Life Science
  • Statistics
• Good programming skills.
• Prior experience with SAS, Python, R, SQL, Power BI, Spotfire, and other dashboard technologies.
• Basic knowledge of the clinical development process.
• Good dashboard development skills in Power BI or Spotfire.
• Basic knowledge of data capture, data models, and data mining.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a distributed team environment.
• Good analytical skills and high attention to detail.
