Job Summary
As a Clinical Data Scientist, you will support AstraZeneca’s Centralized Monitoring (CM) platform used for risk-based quality management in clinical trials. The role focuses on configuring clinical data systems, onboarding new studies, programming monitoring functionalities, validating clinical datasets, and ensuring systems remain audit-ready.
You will collaborate with experienced data scientists, clinicians, statisticians, programmers, and study teams to improve clinical trial oversight through data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:
- Configure and maintain Centralized Monitoring environments
- Support onboarding of new clinical studies
- Configure clinical data sources and repositories
- Develop and maintain monitoring functionalities
- Perform programming, validation, testing, and documentation
- Map standard centralized monitoring features
- Prepare systems for clinical monitoring analyses
- Manage user access and system administration
- Support change management and issue resolution
- Maintain audit-ready documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional global teams
- Troubleshoot clinical data and system configuration issues
- Improve centralized monitoring processes across studies
Required Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
- BSc, MSc, or PhD in Computer Science, Information Science, Biomedical Informatics, or related discipline
- 3โ6 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of Python or R programming
