Position
Research Associate – Lab Operations
The Research Associate will process clinical samples and perform laboratory activities supporting diagnostic testing, including molecular minimal residual disease (MRD) testing for ALL patients, while delivering accurate results within the required turnaround time.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process clinical samples in the laboratory.
- Perform quality control checks on samples.
- Perform DNA extraction.
- Conduct library preparation.
- Prepare samples for sequencing.
- Accurately record laboratory activities in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Follow standard operating procedures.
- Support sequencing workflows and related laboratory operations.
- Assist in the preparation and manufacturing of laboratory reagents.
- Adapt to new laboratory processes and workflows as required.
Eligibility and Qualifications
Mandatory Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Biological Sciences with expertise in Molecular Biology and Genomics.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in basic laboratory protocols and techniques.
- Experience with DNA extraction, quality checks, qPCR, and sequencing such as Sanger and/or next-generation sequencing.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and laboratory and clinical data management.
- Ability to work with IT-supported systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling patient samples.
- Experience with library preparation on the ONT platform is preferred but not mandatory.
