Sample Management Specialist Job Responsibilities
As a Sample Management Specialist, you will support global clinical sample operations and ensure accurate biospecimen tracking throughout clinical trials.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage unresolved sample discrepancies across incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Coordinate discrepancy investigation and timely resolution with internal teams and clinical sites.
- Monitor turnaround time (TAT) and on-time in-full (OTIF) performance.
- Perform quality control (QC) review of sample management data.
- Verify compliance with study-specific data entry requirements.
- Configure studies and workflows within Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Monitor protocol-defined sample collection windows.
- Generate sample inventory, kit tracking, and operational performance reports.
- Conduct trend analysis using laboratory and inventory data.
- Support study close-out activities and reconciliation processes.
- Participate in root cause investigations and corrective actions (CAPA).
- Maintain documentation according to Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
- Provide support for ad hoc data analysis requests.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences or a related scientific discipline.
- 2โ3 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of clinical research and drug development processes.
- Experience with clinical database management systems.
- Strong understanding of data quality standards.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
