Responsibilities in Job

The R&D Regulatory Affairs role focuses on supporting the Regulatory Affairs team by serving as a Discipline Approver. The responsibilities include:

  1. Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with raw material specifications for all parameters under regulatory responsibility, particularly in the European Union and other jurisdictions.
  2. Interpreting Regulations: Applying EU regulatory requirements, country-specific regulations, and regional guidance (e.g., Codex).
  3. Specification Management: Aligning raw material specifications with PepsiCo Global Ingredient Standards.
  4. Data Harmonization: Ensuring consistency and harmonization of regulatory parameters across specifications.
  5. Regulatory Updates: Capturing and implementing regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
  6. System Optimization: Managing specifications data in SAP S/4 Hana for visibility and accessibility.
  7. Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams, including Europe Regulatory Affairs, R&D Project Managers, and external suppliers.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Identifying areas for specification enhancements and recommending improvements to the Regulatory Team.
  9. Regulatory Change Management (RCM): Supporting updates to specifications impacted by regulatory changes and conducting impact assessments.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:

  • Professional experience of over 4 years in Food Regulatory Affairs or Food Safety-related roles.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Food Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and assessing regulatory and technical information.
  • Strong learning agility and self-motivation for continuous improvement.

  • Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate across regions and cultures.
  • Independent problem-solving skills with strong initiative.
  • Exceptional attention to detail for identifying changes, errors, or outdated information.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with 90% fluency in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and rapid adaptability to computer applications like SAP.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
