Key Responsibilities of the Officer – Microbiology
As an Officer in Microbiology at Oyster Medisafe, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the microbiological quality of products, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting plant-wide hygiene and GMP practices. Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct microbiological testing on finished products and environmental monitoring in clean rooms.
- Manage the receiving, labeling, preparation, and analysis of microbiological samples.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, CE, and FDA standards related to microbiology.
- Oversee the maintenance of lab equipment and microbiological testing materials.
- Coordinate with external labs for microbiological testing requirements.
- Perform sterility tests, bacterial endotoxin tests, and bioburden assessments.
- Monitor Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) related to hygiene throughout the plant.
- Manage laboratory inventory and ensure timely purchase of media, reagents, and consumables.
- Ensure the timely submission of test reports and assist in developing test methods, procedures, and equipment operating instructions.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, candidates should have the following qualifications and competencies:
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or Biotechnology.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a microbiology lab, particularly in the medical devices industry.
