Novartis has announced openings for Data Management Interns in Hyderabad under its AI & Data Science Operations team. This internship offers MTech and MS students an opportunity to work on enterprise-scale data engineering, machine learning, and Generative AI projects.
The internship is designed to provide practical exposure to real-world datasets, AI-powered business solutions, and emerging technologies including Agentic AI and Large Language Models (LLMs). Selected interns will collaborate with experienced data scientists and engineers while building industry-relevant technical skills.
Key Responsibilities
As a Data Management Intern at Novartis, you will:
- Assist in data preparation, transformation, and analysis using SQL, Python, and PySpark
- Write and optimize SQL queries for structured datasets
- Support development of data pipelines and feature engineering workflows
- Participate in building and testing Agentic AI and GenAI prototypes
- Collaborate with senior data scientists and engineers on AI-driven solutions
- Conduct data quality checks and dataset validation activities
- Document code, learnings, and analytical findings
- Work in Agile and sprint-based development environments
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must be currently pursuing:
- MTech in Computer Science with Data Science or Artificial Intelligence specialization
OR - MS in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or related fields
Required Technical Skills
Applicants should possess knowledge of:
- SQL queries, joins, and aggregations
- Python programming and data processing
- PySpark or Spark SQL through coursework or academic projects
- Data structures and database concepts
- Data processing fundamentals
- Machine Learning concepts including regression, classification, and evaluation metrics
- Awareness of Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, and Agentic AI
