The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has issued a corrigendum (MDR-1325/Case No. 21/2025) for the Drug Inspector (Group-B) recruitment (Advertisement No. 116/2025). Key changes include:
- Pharm.D Eligibility: Pharm.D is now an eligible qualification, equivalent to a Degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Science.
- Extended Deadlines: Applications are now accepted until August 29, 2025 (23:59), with challan-based fee payments due by September 1, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification:
- Degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences or Medicine with specialization in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology. Pharm.D (newly added as per corrigendum dated August 14, 2025, equivalent to Degree in Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Science).
- Physical Fitness:
- Must meet physical standards prescribed by the appointing authority.

Job Role & Responsibilities
- Inspect drug manufacturing/sale premises
- Ensure compliance with Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940

RECENT UPDATES : In accordance with the opinion received vide the Government letter No. FDS-2024/Case No. 100/24/Drugs-1 dated August 12, 2025, from the Medical Education and Drugs Department, and considering the provisions of the notification dated July 16, 2019, issued by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, it has been informed that the educational qualification of Pharm.D shall be considered equivalent to a Degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Science. Accordingly, applications are invited from eligible candidates holding the Pharm.D qualification for the aforementioned cadre.
