Job Title: Research Associate/Senior Research Associate – Agri. Plant Biochemistry

Location: ITC LSTC

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute experiments in alignment with project timelines.
  • Perform biochemical and molecular analysis in desirable crops & traits.
  • Conduct molecular marker-assisted selection of plants with desired traits.
  • Analyze and interpret data to form well-reasoned conclusions.
  • Prepare presentations and reports.
  • Collaborate with other institutions/universities to fast-track project deliverables.
  • Ensure smooth transfer of technology to business.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:

  • M.Sc. (Ag) in Plant Biochemistry from a reputed institute/university.

Work Experience:

  • 2-8 years of research experience in Plant Biochemistry & Molecular Biology/Biotechnology.
  • Experience in biochemical and molecular analysis of crop plants (e.g., tobacco, wheat, potato, rice, spices, soybean, etc.).
  • Ability to design and execute experiments relevant to the qualifications.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology/Biotechnology tools and techniques (e.g., biochemical analysis, bio assays, DNA/RNA/Protein isolation, agarose/protein gel electrophoresis, enzyme assays, PCR, RT-PCR, KASPAR assay, allergen detection using probes, and nutrition profiling).
  • Expertise in plant molecular markers/genetic diversity analysis.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Capability to establish biochemical and molecular platforms for crops and traits of interest.

Knowledge:

  • Biochemical assays/analysis.
  • Development of molecular markers.
  • Basic statistical analysis.
