Job Overview
The Medical Surveillance Specialist I will provide essential medical surveillance support, including monitoring clinical laboratory data from study subjects, composing medical narratives, and liaising with investigator sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and Evaluate Laboratory Results: Conduct daily evaluations of laboratory data from a sponsor-designated central laboratory.
- Data Analysis: Analyze laboratory data at designated intervals, comparing current results with previous values to note significant changes.
- Investigator Communication: Contact investigator sites for additional clinical data and facilitate communication within the project team.
- Liaison Role: Act as a bridge between the Medical Services Department and sponsor-designated laboratory, ensuring seamless information flow.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on laboratory advancements through education and medical seminars.
- Trend Identification: Leverage clinical laboratory experience to identify significant trends or shifts in laboratory results, alerting IQVIA Medical Advisors as necessary.
- Team Interaction: Work closely with project teams to relay critical information impacting study objectives.
- Project Support: Assist in the project setup activities and participate in project team meetings as required.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or allied health sciences (pharmacy, biochemistry, microbiology, biotechnology, nursing, medical laboratory sciences, physiotherapy), or a degree in healthcare (medical, homeopathy, Ayurveda) or dentistry.
- Experience: 2 to 6 years of relevant experience with a minimum of 2.5 years in medical surveillance.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong ability to comprehend and integrate scientific data. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in data management and word processing applications.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical, organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail are essential.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients.
