The intern will work in a leading plant molecular biology laboratory at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various molecular biology techniques and to work with the model plant Arabidopsis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Molecular Cloning: Perform cloning using restriction base, gateway, and Golden Gate methods.
- Mutant Generation: Use CRISPR/CAS technology to generate mutants.
- DNA/RNA Isolation & PCR: Isolate DNA/RNA and perform conventional and real-time PCR.
- Phenotyping: Conduct phenotyping of mutant plants using various assays and microscopy techniques.
- Plant Maintenance: Manage and maintain plants in the growth room.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of experiments performed daily.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Available for full-time (in-office) internship.
- Can start the internship between 25th May 2024 and 29th June 2024.
- Available for a duration of 6 months.
- Possess relevant skills and interests.
- Final-year master’s degree students or those who have completed their master’s degree in a relevant subject.
- Sincere and motivated to work with plants.
