The Department of Bioscience and Biotechnology at IIT Kharagpur is offering an exciting internship opportunity for a motivated post-graduate student with a background in microbiology, biochemistry, and molecular biology. The focus of the internship will be on plastic-degrading and environmentally relevant bacterial strains, with an emphasis on microbial genomics and related bioinformatics tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Culture maintenance of microbial strains.
- DNA extraction from bacterial cultures.
- Genomic analysis using molecular biology and bioinformatics techniques.
- Assist in the drafting of manuscripts, if the progress is satisfactory.
Qualifications:
- Post-graduate student (Master’s or equivalent) with basic knowledge and skills in microbiology, biochemistry, and molecular biology.
- Interest in learning and applying microbial genomics and bioinformatics.
- Motivation to work independently and as part of a research team.
Duration:
- Tentative tenure of 2 to 6 months.
