Key Responsibilities

As an Rx Prior Authorization Support Associate, your main duties will include:

  • Monitoring and managing pharmacy prior authorization work queues in Epic
  • Initiating prospective and retrospective PA requests with accurate patient and medication details
  • Tracking PA status and performing follow-ups as per defined protocols
  • Documenting all activities in Epic, including notes, communications, and outcomes
  • Uploading and managing external documents such as faxes securely
  • Entering authorization details (approval numbers, validity dates) into the system
  • Communicating with pharmacies and stakeholders via secure channels or calls
  • Identifying complex cases and escalating them to senior teams or pharmacists

Required Qualifications

Candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in:
    • B.Pharm
    • B.Sc. Nursing
    • BSc MLT
    • Or equivalent medical/paramedical qualification
  • Strong understanding of pharmacology and medical concepts

Experience Required

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in:
    • Healthcare support roles
    • Pharmaceutical operations
    • Claims processing or medical documentation

Skills Required

  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong written English communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to quickly learn healthcare IT systems like Epic
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to follow strict protocols and escalation processes

Work Schedule

  • Must be flexible to work in shifts
  • Overlap required with U.S. Eastern Time Zone
