Key Responsibilities
As an Rx Prior Authorization Support Associate, your main duties will include:
- Monitoring and managing pharmacy prior authorization work queues in Epic
- Initiating prospective and retrospective PA requests with accurate patient and medication details
- Tracking PA status and performing follow-ups as per defined protocols
- Documenting all activities in Epic, including notes, communications, and outcomes
- Uploading and managing external documents such as faxes securely
- Entering authorization details (approval numbers, validity dates) into the system
- Communicating with pharmacies and stakeholders via secure channels or calls
- Identifying complex cases and escalating them to senior teams or pharmacists
Required Qualifications
Candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Bachelorโs degree in:
- B.Pharm
- B.Sc. Nursing
- BSc MLT
- Or equivalent medical/paramedical qualification
- Strong understanding of pharmacology and medical concepts
Experience Required
- 1 to 3 years of experience in:
- Healthcare support roles
- Pharmaceutical operations
- Claims processing or medical documentation
Skills Required
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written English communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to quickly learn healthcare IT systems like Epic
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to follow strict protocols and escalation processes
