Clinical Content Specialist – Pharmacy
The Clinical Content Specialist – Pharmacy will develop and validate high-quality content related to Drugs & Biologicals in the US healthcare domain. The role involves ensuring clinical accuracy, compliance, and relevance of concepts affecting high-cost medical spend areas such as chemotherapy and specialty drugs.
Responsibilities
Pharmacy Aspects
- Develop and validate content related to Drugs and Biologicals and their classification.
- Apply knowledge of pharmacy regulatory bodies, including CDSCO, DCGI, and DoP.
- Understand generic and brand drugs.
- Interpret dosage determination, medical necessity, safety, and compliance requirements.
Clinical Aspects
- Evaluate dosage and administration.
- Assess medical necessity and medication frequency.
- Understand contraindications.
- Consider age and gender-related clinical factors.
- Understand adverse drug reactions.
- Evaluate off-label usage.
US Healthcare and Payment Integrity
- Understand medical coding and reimbursement guidelines within the US healthcare domain.
- Work with NDC, HCPCS including J-codes, CPT, ICD, Modifiers, and Revenue Codes.
- Understand CMS, Medicaid guidelines, and payer policies.
- Understand CoverSelf policies and sub-policies.
- Research and develop concepts using CoverSelf policies, medical and pharmacy literature, and drug labels.
Medical and Pharmacy Literature
- Work with drug labels, FDA resources, PubMed, NCBI, CMS, and Medicaid guidelines.
- Read and interpret complex medical and pharmacy literature.
- Extract rule logic based on CoverSelf policies.
- Correlate information from multiple literature sources to arrive at conclusions.
Eligibility and Qualifications
Candidates should have:
- Pharm.D (Doctor of Pharmacy) – Preferred and given priority.
- M.Pharm in Pharmacology or Clinical Pharmacy.
- A strong foundation in pharmacy and clinical concepts, particularly drugs and biologics.
- A strong research mindset.
- Experience in research work, college thesis, or complex case study analysis can be demonstrated.
- Freshers with strong pharmacy/clinical knowledge and a research mindset can be considered.
