Job Responsibilities:

As a Medical Coder at Cotiviti, your key responsibilities will include:

• Accurate and efficient coding of medical records according to established coding guidelines (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10).
• Focusing primarily on Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding, with a preference for experience in Surgery, Radiology, and Multispecialty coding.
• Handling denied claims and working to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintaining detailed documentation and adhering to strict quality control measures.
• Collaborating effectively with a team of medical coders and other healthcare professionals.
• Proactively identifying and suggesting process improvements to enhance coding efficiency and accuracy.
• Staying updated on the latest coding guidelines and regulatory changes within the healthcare industry.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess the following qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree (any stream).
• Certification: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is mandatory.
• Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience in medical coding is required. Experience with Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding is highly preferred. Experience in Surgery, Radiology, and Multispecialty coding is a significant advantage. Denial management experience is also highly desirable.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial for effective collaboration and accurate documentation.
• Teamwork: You must be a strong team player with exceptional interpersonal skills and high integrity.
• Work Schedule: You must be comfortable working a 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM shift.
• Work Location: Must be willing to work from the Pune office.
