Position
Clinical Payment Specialist I
The position supports clinical study payment activities, including site invoice review, payment processing, grant payments, billing discrepancy resolution, and finance reporting.
Responsibilities
- Review study specifications, including EDC platforms and reports, and site contracts to understand payment terms and requirements.
- Work alongside the Lead Clinical Payment Specialist to distribute site invoicing where applicable.
- Analyze site invoices for accuracy and compliance with Clinical Study Agreement payment terms.
- Process data within the finance system to ensure accurate payment outputs.
- Facilitate and distribute grant payments to respective sites throughout the course of a study.
- Communicate effectively with investigators, sponsors, and internal study team members regarding payment activities.
- Complete finance activities within timelines established by service level agreements.
- Track incorrect and pending invoices and facilitate communication regarding billing discrepancies with the relevant parties responsible for correction or approval.
- Run reports outlining payment activity as required.
- Provide support to the assigned Lead Clinical Payment Specialist throughout the life of the study.
Eligibility / Qualifications
Candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, or international equivalent, from an accredited institution in:
- Finance
- Clinical
- Science
- Health-related field
- Or related experience
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in Clinical Payments.
- Prior experience using computerized information systems.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of clinical contracts and budget terms.
- Understanding of basic clinical study start-up and management activities.
- Experience with clinical systems such as:
- EDC
- CTMS
- IVRS
- Knowledge of ICH and local regulatory authority drug research and development regulations is preferred.
- Strong ability to utilize new systems and demonstrate capabilities within systems.
- Experience with various clinical systems is preferred.
