About the Role
We are hiring an Associate STEM Content Analyst (GENSEQ) to join our dynamic team in Chennai. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about biotechnology, bioinformatics, genetics, and molecular biology to contribute to the GENESEQ process, a critical component of our IPG operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply biotechnology, genetics, and molecular biology concepts to curate biological sequence-related information from patent documents.
- Manually curate biological sequences from patent specifications, including PDF or TIFF images, and create additional sequences described in the specification.
- Index nucleic acid and amino acid sequences, including mutated sequences and claimed fragments.
- Achieve weekly production and quality targets while maintaining consistency.
- Utilize publicly available databases like NCBI Taxonomy Database and PubMed for secondary research.
- Ensure compliance with editorial policies and conventions.
- Promote a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
About You
- Must-Have:
- Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or Biochemistry.
- Freshers or candidates with up to 1 year of experience in patent indexing, disease indexing, or abstract writing.
- Basic knowledge of patents and intellectual property.
- Proficiency in MS Office and handling PDF/TIFF images.
- Good to Have:
- 1-2 years of experience in patent indexing, gene sequencing, or disease indexing.
- Familiarity with publicly available biological databases and secondary research skills.
About the GENESEQ Team
The GENESEQ team is a knowledge-driven group within Clarivate’s Intellectual Property Group. Comprising 37 talented professionals with expertise in biotechnology, bioinformatics, and molecular biology, the team plays a pivotal role in curating nucleic acid and amino acid sequences for the GENESEQ product.
Hours of Work
- Timings: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM IST (includes a 1-hour break).
- Flexibility may be required based on business needs.
