Job Description
As an Associate STEM Content Analyst – Pharma Chemistry, you will play a key role in supporting the Derwent Innovation product, which is used by leading R&D labs, universities, and pharmaceutical companies worldwide. Your responsibilities will include:
- Coding and Indexing: Accurately coding and indexing chemical compounds present in patents in line with Derwent Innovation product policies.
- Patent Analysis: Analyzing patents and extracting relevant chemical information.
- Content Editing: Editing and reviewing pharma chemistry-related content with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Team Collaboration: Actively participating in team activities and staying updated on the latest trends in pharma chemistry and intellectual property.
- Upskilling: Continuously improving your skills in pharma chemistry, intellectual property, and data analysis.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Must-Have:
- A degree in B.Pharm, M.Pharm, or M.Sc Chemistry.
- Freshers or candidates with 1-2 years of experience in chemistry or pharma-based content editing (non-R&D).
- Proficiency in tools like ISIS Draw / Marvin JS.
- Strong knowledge of chemical nomenclature (IUPAC), complex chemical reactions, and drug applications.
- Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Good-to-Have:
- Elementary proficiency in foreign languages (e.g., German, French, Spanish).
- Experience in patent analysis and Markush structures.
- Strong content writing and analytical skills.
About the PharmaChem Team
The PharmaChem team is a diverse group of 20+ professionals based in Chennai and Hyderabad. With experience levels ranging from 0 to 15 years, the team is responsible for indexing and coding chemical compounds in patents for the Derwent Innovation product. The team collaborates closely with Content Managers in India and London to deliver high-quality results to clients worldwide.
Work Hours
- 9 AM to 6 PM, IST (Hybrid work model).
