About the Role
The Associate STEM Content Analyst – Polymer is part of Clarivate’s Polymer Team within IP Indexing. The team analyzes patent documents and enriches scientific information to create high-quality, value-added content for DWPI products.
Candidates in this position will work with scientific patent literature covering polymer chemistry, monomers, catalysts, additives, chemical processes, physical operations and polymer applications.
The role combines chemistry knowledge, patent analysis, scientific information extraction, content curation and indexing.
Key Responsibilities
- Extract novel scientific and technical information from polymer patents.
- Add value to patent information using appropriate DWPI codes according to established editorial policies.
- Index and code polymer-related information contained in patent documents.
- Identify and curate information relating to monomers, catalysts and additives.
- Analyze chemical processes and physical operations described in polymer patents.
- Identify different applications and uses of polymers.
- Review scientific information carefully to maintain high content accuracy.
- Follow defined editorial policies, quality standards and production targets.
- Analyze and interpret complex scientific datasets and patent information.
- Maintain awareness of current developments and emerging trends in polymer science and chemistry.
- Collaborate with the Polymer IP Indexing team to maintain the quality of Clarivate’s scientific and intellectual property content.
Eligibility & Qualifications
Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications:
Master’s Degree (M.Sc.) in:
- Chemistry
- Polymer Science
- Organic Chemistry
- Physical Chemistry
- Analytical Chemistry
- Inorganic Chemistry
OR
Engineering Degree in:
- B.Tech in Polymer Technology
- M.Tech in Polymer Technology
The position is open to freshers as well as candidates with approximately 1–2 years of relevant content experience.
Skills Required
Applicants should have:
- Strong understanding of chemistry or polymer science.
- Ability to understand and interpret complex scientific information.
- Strong analytical and scientific reading skills.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Ability to work with scientific datasets.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Attention to detail while extracting and indexing scientific information.
Experience with chemical structure drawing software such as ISIS Draw will be an added advantage.
