About the Medical Science Liaison Role

As a Medical Science Liaison at Bristol Myers Squibb, you will serve as a scientific partner to healthcare professionals and Thought Leaders across the assigned geography.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific Engagement with HCPs

• Develop and maintain professional relationships with Thought Leaders, Healthcare Professionals and relevant access stakeholders.
• Respond to unsolicited scientific, product and therapy-area questions.
• Conduct scientific interactions through one-to-one discussions, group presentations and remote engagement channels.
• Develop and execute medical interaction plans according to stakeholder needs and the medical strategy.
• Present accurate, balanced and scientifically meaningful information to healthcare professionals.
• Maintain current knowledge of treatment strategies, clinical trials, scientific developments and unmet medical needs.
• Understand the competitive landscape within Haematology and Oncology.
• Capture meaningful insights from external stakeholders and communicate them to the Medical organization.
• Deliver scientific meetings within relevant therapeutic areas.

Country Medical Plan Support

The Medical Science Liaison will contribute to the BMS country medical strategy by:

• Developing territory Field Medical plans.
• Creating Thought Leader interaction plans based on therapeutic-area objectives.
• Executing assigned medical plan activities.
• Contributing to institution and account planning.
• Supporting scientifically relevant medical programs and projects.
• Identifying insights that can help shape Medical Affairs strategy.

Internal Medical & Scientific Support

The selected candidate may provide scientific support and updates to cross-functional stakeholders, including:

• Commercial
• Regulatory Affairs
• Pharmacovigilance
• Legal
• HEOR
• Market Access

The MSL may also provide scientific support at promotional meetings by presenting unbiased clinical and scientific data and supporting BMS-contracted speakers where appropriate.

Clinical Trial Support

The BMS Medical Science Liaison – Haematology & Oncology may also support clinical research activities.

Responsibilities can include:

• Supporting Interventional and Non-Interventional Research studies.
• Helping identify and assess potential clinical trial sites.
• Supporting discussions related to patient recruitment.
• Providing scientific information concerning the safe and effective use of investigational products.
• Providing recommendations regarding study and site feasibility.
• Engaging with potential investigators.
• Supporting Clinical Development teams with field-based scientific insights.

Pharmacovigilance Responsibilities

Patient safety is an important component of the Medical Science Liaison role.

The selected candidate will be expected to identify and report safety information, including adverse events, in accordance with Bristol Myers Squibb Standard Operating Procedures.

Knowledge of Pharmacovigilance principles and the ability to recognize and appropriately escalate safety information can therefore be valuable for this position.
