Role Overview: Senior Medical Science Liaison – Heart Health

As a Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in Heart Health, your primary responsibilities will include the exchange and dissemination of scientific information, engagement with medical societies, and supporting scientific education initiatives. Your engagement with healthcare professionals is crucial in cementing Bayer’s reputation as a trusted partner in the medical community.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Scientific Exchange: Your role will involve proactive and reactive engagement with Thought Leaders (TLs), where you will share scientific data, study protocols, and literature relevant to Bayer’s products.
  2. Networking with Medical Societies: You will address medical and scientific queries related to Bayer products from medical societies and take part in organizing advisory boards.
  3. Participation in Conferences: Attend congresses and conventions to network with TLs, expand your professional contacts, and gather competitive intelligence vital for Bayer’s strategy.
  4. Scientific Education: Plan and coordinate scientific training sessions with TLs within your therapeutic area, ensuring that the latest scientific insights are effectively communicated.
  5. Strategic Planning: In alignment with the Medical Affairs plan, you will support the identification and profiling of TLs to optimize engagement strategies.
  6. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain timely and accurate reporting of your activities and their alignment with agreed objectives.

Secondary Responsibilities

In addition to your primary activities, you will also provide external scientific support and education beyond the scope of your primary responsibilities, ensuring comprehensive knowledge dissemination.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Educational Background: A degree in natural sciences or a medical background (MD/MBBS/BAMS/BDS/MDS) is required.
  • Therapeutic Knowledge: A basic understanding of Chronic Kidney Disease and Diabetes, as well as related treatment methodologies, is preferred.
  • Clinical Trial Understanding: Familiarity with clinical trial designs and their underlying rationale is advantageous.
  • Interpersonal Skills: The ability to work independently and collaboratively is crucial for building effective professional relationships.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for successful interaction with external stakeholders and internal teams.
