Key Responsibilities
As an Outpatient CDI Specialist at Doctus, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality clinical documentation. Your responsibilities include:
- Documentation Review: Perform concurrent and retrospective reviews of outpatient medical records to ensure accuracy and completeness, reflecting patients’ clinical conditions and treatments.
- Provider Education: Work with physicians and healthcare providers to educate them on best practices for specific, compliant documentation to support accurate coding and billing.
- Query Process: Issue compliant, non-leading queries to clarify ambiguous or incomplete documentation, adhering to ICD-10-CM, CPT, and outpatient coding guidelines.
- Coding Collaboration: Partner with coding and billing teams to ensure documentation supports appropriate code assignment and risk adjustment.
- Compliance Assurance: Maintain adherence to CMS, HIPAA, and other regulatory guidelines to minimize audit risks.

Qualifications
