Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist specializing in Upstream Cell Culture to join our Bioprocess Design Center in Hyderabad. This role focuses on developing and optimizing single-use bioreactor systems for biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Process Development & Optimization
- Design and optimizeย upstream cell culture processes, including media formulation, feeding strategies, and bioreactor control parameters.
- Conductย small-scale, bench-scale, and pilot-scale experimentsย to enhance cell growth, productivity, and product quality.
- Evaluate and implementย single-use bioreactor technologiesย to improve process efficiency and flexibility.
Technology Transfer & Scale-Up
- Leadย upstream process technology transferย to clinical and commercial manufacturing scales.
- Developย standard operating procedures (SOPs), batch records, and process documentationย for scale-up activities.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure seamless implementation of upstream processes.
Data Analysis & Documentation
- Analyze experimental data to assess process performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Prepareย technical reports, presentations, and regulatory documentationย followingย Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Maintain accurate records inย electronic lab notebooks (ELNs).
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely withย downstream processing, analytical development, and quality assurance teamsย to ensure end-to-end biomanufacturing success.
- Participate inย project meetingsย and contribute to strategic discussions.
- Support troubleshooting of upstream-related challenges in production.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated onย advancements in cell culture technologies and single-use bioprocessing.
- Implementย innovative approachesย to enhance process scalability and sustainability.
- Foster a culture ofย continuous improvementย within the Bioprocess Design Center.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Ph.D., M.S., or B.S.ย inย Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
Experience
- 3+ yearsย inย upstream process developmentย for biologics (mammalian or microbial cell culture).
- Hands-on experience withย single-use bioreactor systemsย (preferred).
- Knowledge ofย fed-batch, perfusion, and continuous culture processes.
- Familiarity withย bioreactor design, process control strategies, and analytical tools.
- Understanding ofย cGMP guidelines, regulatory standards, and technology transfer.
Preferred Skills
- Experience inย cell line development and characterization.
- Knowledge ofย Process Analytical Technology (PAT)ย andย data-driven optimization tools.
- Strongย problem-solving, analytical, and project managementย skills.
- Excellentย communication and presentation skillsย (English proficiency required).
