Role Overview
As a Drug Safety Specialist, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards. You will work closely with business users, analysts, and stakeholders, ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met efficiently. Key responsibilities include:
- Creating detailed Power BI reports and integrating data from various sources, including Veeva Vault RIM.
- Performing SQL queries to extract and manipulate data for reporting.
- Assisting in the safety database setup and executing user acceptance testing.
- Supporting the production environment by troubleshooting data and reporting issues.
- Engaging in medical monitoring activities, aiding in literature searches, and handling audits.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Management and Reporting: Utilize your proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and SharePoint to present comprehensive insights through visual dashboards. Understand complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Be aware of global regulatory reporting obligations, ensuring timely and compliant adverse event reporting. Assist in the development of project-specific safety procedures and workflows.
- Collaboration: Work in conjunction with Medical Directors, Safety Physicians, and other team members to support drug safety activities and contribute to investigator meetings as required.
- Training and Development: Participate in continuous training, enhancing your skills in drug safety and compliance, and staying updated with the latest industry practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be considered for the Drug Safety Specialist role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Educational Background: A degree in Pharmacy, Nursing, Life Sciences, or a related health field is preferred. An associate degree with appropriate work experience is also acceptable.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in the Power BI stack and data visualization. Familiarity with Veeva Vault RIM is essential.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
