Responsibilities in the Role

As a Drug Safety Analyst – Literature Specialist, you will:

  1. Oversee data acquisition and management processes to support pharmacovigilance activities.
  2. Construct and execute search strategies using biomedical databases like OVID, Embase, Medline, and PubMed.
  3. Analyze and review scientific literature for regulatory submissions and health agency requests.
  4. Maintain awareness of relevant technologies to improve content acquisition.
  5. Collaborate with internal and external teams to meet business and process objectives.
  6. Drive innovation to enhance efficiency in literature searches and data analysis.
  7. Manage vendor relationships for content acquisition.

Required Qualifications

  • Educational Background:
    • PhD, Pharm D, M.Pharm, B.Pharm, BDS, B.Tech/M.Tech (Life Sciences), M.Sc./B.Sc. (Life Sciences)
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 4+ years in pharmacovigilance.
    • At least 1 year of hands-on experience in crafting and executing search strategies.

Key Skills

  1. Scientific Literature Analysis:
    • Expertise in bibliographic datasets and content libraries.
    • Proficient in pharmaceutical databases like OVID, Embase, Medline, and PubMed.
  2. Search Strategy Construction:
    • Ability to construct and execute effective search strings for databases.
  3. Medical Terminology:
    • In-depth understanding of drug nomenclature, pharmaceutical products, and class hierarchies.
  4. Technological Proficiency:
    • High learning agility to adapt to new tools and technologies for process improvements.
  5. Interpersonal Skills:
