Roles & Responsibilities

As a QC Microbiology Analyst, you will play a vital role in ensuring product quality through rigorous microbiological and chemical testing. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing microbiological analysis including Bioburden, Microbial Limit Test (MLT), Test for Specified Organisms, Bacterial Endotoxin Test (BET), and Sterility testing
  • Conducting chemical analysis of different grades of water (Purified Water, Water for Injection, Potable Water) as per specifications
  • Carrying out Environmental Monitoring of clean rooms and Utility Monitoring
  • Handling water sampling activities across the facility
  • Managing sample receipt, logging, and coordination for raw materials, in-process, finished products, and stability samples
  • Executing media preparation, sterilization, growth promotion tests, culture maintenance, and safe media disposal
  • Monitoring temperature and differential pressure records of equipment and clean rooms
  • Preparing disinfectants, performing lab cleaning, fumigation, and following Good Hygiene Practices
  • Participating in method verification activities for BET, Sterility, MLT, and Bioburden tests
  • Supporting overall Microbiology lab maintenance and related activities

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education: M.Sc. in Microbiology (essential)

Experience: Entry-level position – suitable for freshers or candidates with 0–2 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical microbiology/QC lab

Key Skills & Capabilities:

  • Hands-on experience or strong knowledge of microbial analysis of water, oral solid dosage (OSD) products, injectables, and environmental monitoring
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation skills
  • Good communication skills (speaking, listening, writing)
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in a team
  • Flexibility to work in shifts and handle dynamic, fast-paced environments
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize tasks
  • High commitment to safety, quality, and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
