Join Our Research Team: Research Assistant / Associate (Fixed Term)

About Us:
Dr. Valeria Lulla’s research group at the Department of Pathology, Addenbrooke’s Campus, is seeking a dedicated Research Assistant/Associate. Our groundbreaking research focuses on human intestinal pathogens progressing to central nervous system infections. This position, funded by the Wellcome Trust, presents an exciting opportunity to integrate organoid infection models and molecular virology methods with high-throughput imaging and sequencing techniques.

Position:

  • Designation: Research Assistant / Associate (Fixed Term)
  • Research Area: Molecular Virology, RNA/Protein Molecular Biology
  • Location: Department of Pathology, Addenbrooke’s Campus, Cambridge, UK

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD or expecting to obtain one shortly
  • Strong track record in RNA/protein molecular biology
  • Experience in virology, biochemistry, and biosafety level 2 material handling is advantageous

Job Description:
As a Research Assistant/Associate, you will:

  • Integrate organoid infection models and molecular virology methods
  • Utilize high-throughput imaging and sequencing techniques
  • Develop research objectives and prepare results for publication
  • Mentor students and deliver seminars
  • Acquire new skills and maintain accurate experiment records
