Remote EDC Programmer Jobs in Syneos Health

Syneos Health is seeking an experienced Principal Clinical Programmer specializing in Rave or Veeva EDC to join their dynamic team. This is a home-based position in India, offering an excellent opportunity to work with a leading biopharmaceutical solutions organization dedicated to accelerating clinical development and improving patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for clinical programming tools, including Medidata Rave, Veeva EDC, Oracle OC/RDC, SAS, and other supporting applications.
  • Design, develop, validate, and maintain software solutions to support CRF design, database setup, edit checks, data migrations, and custom reporting.
  • Provide technical leadership for 5-20 concurrent studies, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to timelines.
  • Lead study builds, eCRF development, edit check programming, and migrations while ensuring compliance with clinical trial protocols.
  • Mentor junior programmers, conduct training sessions, and oversee project-level clinical programming operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data management, biostatistics, and clinical operations, to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement upgrades in alignment with vendor SLAs.
  • Participate in client audits, bid defenses, and change order management to ensure project scope alignment.
  • Contribute to SOP updates, process improvements, and best practices in clinical programming.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (Life Sciences, Computer Science, or related discipline).
  • Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience in Rave or Veeva EDC with expertise in study builds, edit checks, custom functions, and migrations.
  • Strong leadership experience, with the ability to manage multiple studies and mentor junior team members.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with PL/SQL, SAS, C#, or VB is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrix-structured environment with up to 25% travel (if required).
